Pastor Desmond Cole and his wife Evelyn were invited to Nigeria in 1987 to minister to a young pastor there. From that experience, they saw the need for many pastors to be taught and fathered.
Care Ministries International was established to express loving care to pastors and their families. From Nigeria, the ministry spread to Trinidad, Canada, and parts of the United States.
"What is needed to do the work of God is not only the physical things, but the spiritual things," says Pastor Dhaniram Gopaul of Trinidad. "Pastor Cole, being in the pulpit for 54 years, has a wealth of experience of things I don't know."
"The pastor is the only one in the church that doesn't have a pastor to confide in," notices Desmond. Evelyn ministers to pastor's wives. "Pastors wives, like the pastors, don't have anyone to talk to and I find pastors wives are really lonely people."
Volunteers from their church are now accompanying the Coles on many of their trips. "We have such wonderful people that God sends us to encourage us, to help us," says Evelyn.
Now in their mid seventies, Desmond and Evelyn Cole continue to live their calling, expressing loving care to pastors and their families around the world.
